Founded in 1992, SPP Mechanical has established a great reputation as a Leading Mechanical Contractor providing Plumbing, Piping, HVAC and Pipe Fabrication Services. We utilize the latest technological innovations and solutions to install the most complex systems on the market.

Our Founders and Leadership

Our company was founded by Gerald “Jerry” Buckholz in 1992 as Suburban Process Piping. He had acquired the company from Suburban Power Piping. Suburban Process Piping became well established in the Lorain, Cleveland and Canton Steel Mills. In 2000, (his son) Al Buckholz, took over as Company President and continued serving our Industrial customers and began branching out into the Commercial Segments. This was largely due to the slow decline in the Industrial Market in our area of operation. In 2016, we decided to rebrand ourselves with the name of SPP Mechanical maintaining the SPP in honor of Suburban Process Piping (Many of our customers still refer us as “Suburban”). We branched out further into the Commercial and Institutional Markets with great success finding there was a need for a well-qualified contractor to meet the growing demand. In 2017, (third generation) Chris Buckholz took over as President and SPP continues to perform work in all three market segments with an increased focus on the service sector.
